Farm Experience

Experience life on our Dairy farm in Cornwall.

Nick, Liz and family are passionate about life on their small dairy farm in the heart of Cornwall. They love sharing this special place with their holiday cottage guests and enjoy inviting everyone to explore their beautiful farm.

All guests staying at Callestock are warmly invited to join Liz for a guided farm tour. Wander through the peaceful Cornish meadows and meet the herd of Jersey cows – each with their own name and personality. Liz will introduce you to some of her favourites, especially the lovely Beau.

For those who don’t mind an early start, there’s also the chance to join Nick or Ben in the milking parlour. You’ll learn how the cows are milked and discover where the milk goes to be processed into Rodda’s delicious Cornish clotted cream and butter.

You’ll also get to visit the maternity wing, where cows await the arrival of their calves, and you can meet the adorable new-borns if you’re visiting from late February onwards – a favourite moment for many of our guests.  Every calf born on farm is given a name, our guests are always asked to come up with ideas, we’ve had some wonderful suggestions over the years

In May and June, you might catch Nick and Ben making silage to feed the herd through winter. And if you’re lucky, you could even enjoy a ride on Ben’s huge Massey Ferguson tractor!

To top it all off, every guest is treated to a traditional Cornish cream tea with Rodda’s clotted cream and Liz’s famous home-baked scones. And if you ask nicely, she might even share her secret recipe.

Come and take part in the Callestock Farm Experience – it’s more than just a holiday, it’s a very special memory..
