Callestock Blog

Many of you will know that back in 2019 Ben and his lovely wife Jess bought the neighbouring land which is right next door to the home farm here at Callestock.  Over the last few years they have been busy little bees improving the land with their main project being the rejuvenation of a wet area into a beautiful wildlife pond.  As you can see from the pictures it really is amazing and is surrounded by woodland, so a perfect haven for all sorts of wildlife. 

So far we have been extremely lucky to catch a glimpse of kingfishers, dragonflies, a heron, wild geese and of course our regular summer visitors the swifts and swallows, they just loved swooping low over the water catching flies.  This beautiful area will be perfect for watching the changing seasons and will have so much to offer throughout the year.

Many of you will have enjoyed our woodland walk on our farm, so we're now working on linking our walk a visit to the wildlife pond, watch this space and ask Liz about it when you arrive here at Callestock. We're so looking foward to sharing this peaceful and tranquil area with you all this year, we know you're going to love it!
