Callestock Easter Buns

As we've all got a lot more time on our hands at the moment, here's a delicious recipe for you to try - a treat for the Easter weekend!

Callestock Easter Buns


4oz (100g) Soft Margarine

4oz (100g) Caster Sugar

4oz (100g) Self Raising Flour

1 teaspoon Baking Powder

2 Eggs


Preheat the oven to 200C.  Place about 18 paper cases in bun tins. 

Measure all ingredients into a large bowl and beat well for 2-3 minutes until the mixture is well blended and smooth.  Half fill the paper cases with the mixture.  Bake in the pre-heated oven for about 15-20 minutes until the cakes are well risen and golden brown.  Lift cakes out of tin and leave to cool on a wire rack.


Once cooled make the Icing.

6oz (175g) Roddas Butter

12oz (350g) Icing Sugar sifted


Beat the butter until soft then mix in the icing sugar.  Place in a piping bag and pipe a swirl of icing onto each bun.

Decorate with mini Easter eggs of your choice, we love sugar coated ones, but we also like the Galaxy Enchanted ones too! 

Very naughty but very nice.  A well earned treat at the end of Lent!
