We love to get outside and make the most of the sunshine here at Callestock, and at this time of year all our hard work pays off as the flowers start to bloom and the garden is awash with colour.
There's the wisteria, the apple blossom and the pretty clematis all bringing their own brand of style to the outside space.
Totally worth all that hard work.
And then there's the echium....
Regular guests Sandra and David kindly gave us a little echium pininana a couple of years ago, after they'd enjoyed one of their many holidays here at the cottages. Just two years later and the stunning little plant has fully grown into a beast of a flower!
Sandra and David were with us only a few weeks ago and were thrilled to see that the little plant had grown to this heady height and was flowering so well.
The echium is a magnet for bees as it provides nectar for them all day long so, as well as looking so dramatic, it's also helping to save the bees.
(As an added bonus: no pruning is required! What's not to love?)
Browse the holiday cottages and book your next visit to see the garden in all its Summer glory.
PS Can you spot a sunbathing Sandy in any of the pictures...?
