Amazing Experiences for Adrenaline Junkies

Cornwall isn't just about beaches, good food, and breath-taking views.... it also offers plenty of memorable experiences for those looking for a more active break this Summer.

Koru Kayaking on Frenchman's Creek

Explore parts of Cornwall rarely seen as you take to the waters of Frenchman's Creek on the South coast. Set off from a private beach near Falmouth, paddle the calm waters of the peaceful inlet where you'll discover historic woodland and secluded beaches.

You don't even need to be an experienced kayaker - the website just asks for a sense of adventure and a little fitness. What could possibly go wrong?

Zipwire at Eden

Not for the feint-hearted, the Hangloose Activity Centre at the Eden Project will blow away the cobwebs and make your heart miss a beat (or two).

There's England's longest and fastest zipwire, which travels 660m across the iconic biomes. Then there's the giant gravity swing (not advised to book this activity just after lunch.... just saying), an epic cliff jump from a height of 10m, and the stunt-man free fall.

Perranporth Surf School

Surfing

That moment you catch a wave and surge forward with the wind in your face is truly exhilarating. And with the support and tuition of a qualified instructor it could be easier than you think to achieve....

Just ten minutes from Callestock Courtyard, the surf school at Perranporth provides all the equipment, along with a friendly and informal teaching style, you'll need to channel your inner surfer.

Coasteering at Port Isaac

Cornwall coasteering

Explore the rugged coastline of North Cornwall as you travel along the otherwise inaccessible cliffs from the sea, swimming into rocky coves, adventuring into caves, and jumping from rocky outcrops.

The sessions are run by qualified lifeguards at the National Trust locations of Port Quin and Port Gaverne. These picturesque areas are some of Cornwall's finest, with miles of blue sea to enjoy.

Paddle boarding at Loe Beach

Paddleboarding in Cornwall

Our final recommendation for an action-packed holiday is paddle-boarding. Not as nail-biting as the Hangloose dry land activities, and more serene than surfing and coasteering, paddle-boarding gives you the opportunity to take in the tranquil waters around Loe Beach on Cornwall's south coast.

Standing or sitting, you'll learn the basics of paddling your way through the serene waters between Truro and Falmouth. A memorable experience that will stay with you long after the tan has faded.

What have we missed?

What else would you add? Have you discovered any amazing experiences not mentioned here that you think we should know about? Share on the Facebook page so we can tell others about them.

And if you do have the pleasure of experiencing any of the adrenaline experiences mentioned here, we'd love to hear all about them. Just don't expect us to join you on the edge of the cliff jumps at Port Isaac or flying through the air over the Eden biomes...
