7 uplifting things to do in Cornwall this Easter

After months of dark mornings, grey days and rainy weekends, it's finally time to get outside for a much-needed injection of Vitamin D. Here's our round-up of the best attractions to enjoy in Cornwall this Easter.

Trelissick House & Gardens, near Truro

Wander among the carpets of snowdrops, the pretty summerhouses and the ancient woodland at this beautiful National Trust property, before finding the secret pebble beach where you can skim stones on the calm waters.

Eden Project

It's difficult to come to Cornwall without hearing about the iconic Eden Project. Developed from a disused clay pit in the 1990s, the visitor attraction near St Austell attracts around one million people every year.

You'll love the Spring flower display, which features over 30,000 Spring bulbs in full bloom, along with the newly opened Rainforest canopy walkway.

It's easy to spend a whole day exploring the two stunning biomes with their impressive collection of rare plants and wildlife, before relaxing in the cafe and getting some retail therapy in the well-stocked giftshop.

Save time and buy your tickets online in advance.

Tintagel Castle

Pull on your walking boots and get ready to blow away the cobwebs as you hit the rugged Cornish coast to discover the legend of King Arthur.

Tintagel Castle

Steeped in myth and legend, this magical place features stunning views across the Atlantic, historic castle ruins and a first-hand glimpse into coastal life through the ages.

Levant Mine, West Cornwall

It's easy to imagine the sights, sounds and smells of Cornwall's historic mining heritage when you visit this original 1840s copper and tin mine.

The stunning scenery of West Cornwall's Botallack and Levant was the backdrop to the BAFTA award winning TV series, Poldark. We can't guarantee Ross will be in residence during your visit but his absence will at least give you a chance to enjoy the natural scenery without getting too distracted.....

Take a peek inside the mine here.

Cornwall Spring Flower Show

The Telegraph has named it one of the best flower shows to visit in 2017, and with over 100 trade stands at this two-day event it's easy to see why.

Cornwall rhododendrons

You're guaranteed a colourful display of seasonal blooms at this competitive event, including daffodils, rhododendrons, camellias and ornamental shrubs.

Unless you want no room in the car for gifts, clotted cream and packs of traditional Cornish fudge, you might want to leave your credit card at home... it's easy to get carried away with all the tempting offers!

Porthleven Food Festival

There's more than just freshly prepared food at this annual event... there are also celebrity chefs, local and international music acts, and over 150 exhibitors offering mouth-watering treats.

The event is held in the quaint little Porthleven Harbour in West Cornwall.

See the final line-up of chefs, speakers and performers here.

Tregothnan Charity Open Weekend

Spring is the perfect time to enjoy everything Tregothnan Gardens has to offer, as it opens its gates on 22nd and 23rd April 2017 for a charity garden weekend.

Tregothnan's real magic is found in its breath-taking rhododendrons, which are in glorious flower from March through to late Spring.

All money raised from the April open event in 2017 will go to St Petroc's Society, which provides accommodation, support and advice to homeless people in Cornwall.

So that's our round-up of some of the most uplifting things to do in Cornwall this Easter. What would you add? Anything that tops your wish-list this Spring? Share on the Facebook page - we'd love to hear your ideas.
